Managua, 1986–1987. These photographs were made while working at the French Embassy during a time of war. Traveling to some of the most remote parts of the country, the camera became a means of bearing witness: to the people, their daily lives, and their courage in the face of conflict and privation.

The photographs were exhibited in Nicaragua, traveled to Venezuela, Colombia, and Argentina, and were shown at Bolivar Hall in London in 1991.
